Olivia & Toby | Home marquee wedding

What a blog post I have in store for you today, we are talking top tier wedding action! It is of course Olivia and Toby’s summer marquee wedding at home, captured by yours truly.

Olivia and Toby had planned a church wedding followed by the reception at her family home, and after visiting her family home to undertake their pre-wedding shoot, I knew it was going to be an epic wedding day!

Their wedding was on one of the most popular dates of the year last July, but what we couldn’t have predicted was the wind - extreme wind! 50mph winds in peak summer, anyone? Anyway, I dare you to see if any of these photos look super windy (the ones where everyone is trying to hold the marquee together may be the only ones).

Olivia and her girls got ready at her parents’ house, which doubled as the reception venue, while groom Toby and the gents got ready a little up the road. See Toby’s reaction to Olivia’s wedding gift in the photos below, genuine shock and awe - love it! Look at his happy little face.

One of the star attractions of this wedding was Olivia’s sensational wedding dress which was designed by Sassi Holford (via The Bride, St Albans) and when I tell you everyone was blown away by it… it wasn’t the 50mph winds! Once Olivia was in her dress I was genuinely lost for words. Stunner.

After their ceremony, some fam photos and confetti, everyone piled back to the marquee for some well-earned drinks, speeches and a few photos. We’d done their pre-wedding shoot in the same location a couple of months earlier, so I knew we would make use of the field opposite the house - you know I bloody love a field.

They’d told me a secret before the wedding which I couldn’t wait for, which was that groom Toby, who is an established DJ, was going to do a cheeky little DJ set somewhere into the party, and it was great to see everyone go wild as he hit the decks. Take a look at the photos below to see exactly how wild the party was, these farmer crowds never fail to disappoint! And yes, that 3 person tower did fall over onto the dancefloor….

This really was the best of times, and I wish we could do it all again. More weddings like this please!

What O+T said:

“So, Sally basically ran my whole wedding day! I mean, she’s been to a hell of a lot more weddings than we have so that makes sense. She had ideas about the dress reveal, what time was best for group shots, checking the weather for best time for couple shots (it was very windy), and organising all the guests for the confetti shots.

Not actually sure what we’d have done without her, although I didn’t notice she was there most of the time if that makes sense? Very subtle, very natural photos capturing so many amazing moments throughout the day! I’ve verging on obsessed with the photos.

Anyway, I would definitely recommend Sally, over and over again!!”
