Alex & James | Bruisyard Hall
In early August 2021 I headed back to beautiful Bruisyard Hall, a gorgeous gem of a wedding venue in rural Suffolk. I’ve shot at Bruisyard Hall a few times now, and it never disappoints!
It was Alex and James’ turn to tie the knot, having moved their wedding from earlier in the summer when weddings were unable to go ahead. Due to Alex spending much of her childhood in Brazil, and her and James’ eclectic set of London friends, it was due to be a mega mix of nationalities and jet-setters. However, due to bloody bastard C*vid, many of their friends were unable to travel to the UK to attend the wedding. It was heartbreaking but A+J made the decision to press ahead with their wedding day, despite family and friends who couldn’t make it. Instead, the new Mr + Mrs set up live streams for their family and friends around the globe to tune into their day - all day! Even as Alex was getting into her dress, friends back in Brazil and elsewhere were Facetiming to see her before the ceremony. The ceremony was live streamed, and the speeches after dinner were truly emotional, as there were several video messages from those who couldn’t get back to the UK. Luckily the messages were just as amusing as they were tear-jerking!
Alex + James sunny Bruisyard wedding was topped off by fireworks, something which always strikes fear into photographers’ hearts due to the technical complexity of capturing them right, but I think you’ll agree, they look pretty epic!
I had the best day capturing A+J’s wedding in beautiful Suffolk; you won’t meet a more fun, genuine couple than Alex and James. Alex’s time spent in Brazil was evident everywhere, not just the Portuguese being spoken throughout the day by various guests, but also the incredible dessert table with plenty of Brazilian influence, through to the INSANE steak and salsa verde that was served at dinner. Honestly, one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten!
