Alex & Jason | Gosfield Hall
Alex and Jason’s wedding day last summer was one of ten weddings I shot during August, and I knew it wasn’t going to disappoint!
After a few rainy weddings leading up to their day, I was praying for good weather, and we were rewarded with an absolute scorcher of a day with sun from start to finish.
Both Alex and Jason got ready at Gosfield Hall, which is famous for its white and gold Rococco bridal suite. Alex and her girls got ready in the bridal suite while Jason and the chaps were down the hall.
They chose JF Styling to style and dress the venue, and you can see throughout the day things were immaculately styled, including some fab table numbers which each had a special meaning.
Reception drinks were super hot and sunny as guests enjoyed some Pimms and Mojitos out in Gosfield Hall’s courtyard, and we sought some shade for a handful of couple portraits, knowing that the light would be perfect for them after dinner.
During the speeches, there was a brilliant moment where Jason was leading into a poignant part directed at his mum sat next to him, emotionally describing how she was the heart of the family, whereupon his speech was rudely interrupted by a loud engine starting up outside the window. Jason took it in good humour that his emotional speech had been blasted to bits and it was probably a good diversion to avoid the ol’ wobbly lip.
As the sun went down, we headed out to the wheat fields across from Gosfield Hall to get some absolutely sensational golden hour shots, I’m still buzzing about them now! The light was perfect, Alex and Jason were just so much fun and dreamy to capture, and it was a joy from start to finish, as you can see from some of the dancefloor photos. This really was the best of times.
