Katherine + Jan | Le Talbooth wedding at Milsoms, Dedham
When you book a wedding for June, you’re probably justified in thinking that you’re going to catch at least a little bit of England’s summer weather, and luckily for Katherine and Jan, the unusual rainy spell stayed clear for their day! The recent unseasonable weather meant everything had been given a good watering, and therefore very lush and green at beautiful riverside wedding venue Le Talbooth, in Dedham, near Colchester.
Katherine got ready at Milsoms hotel and restaurant just around the corner from Le Talbooth; both are part of the same Milsoms family and so this was convenient, not to mention a bloody lovely place to have bridal preparations! From seeing some of the little details in the morning such as Katherine’s bouquet, her dress, shoes etc, it solidifed my view that this was going to be a complete belter of a wedding!
Katherine and Jan exchanged vows indoors but alongside the river at Le Talbooth, and once the formalities were over they were whisked off on a little river boat cruise, leaving their guests momentarily to enjoy some drinks in their leafy surroundings. Although it threatened all afternoon, the rain held off and provided everyone the opportunity to spend nearly all day outside, only until after the first dance when it started to spritz! Speaking of the first dance – I was happy to hear something a little different, and their choice was ‘Iris’ by The Goo Goo Dolls. If you think you don’t know it, give it a listen, you probably do.
