Amy & Chelsea | Autumn Bruisyard Hall wedding
Iβm so pleased to bring you this blog, as someone who has photographed many weddings at Suffolk wedding venue Bruisyard Hall, it never fails to deliver the goods! Today Iβm super excited to show off some photos from a wedding that snuck into my calendar in autumn of 2025, and thatβs Amy and Chelseaβs wedding day π€
Iβd already gotten to know bride Amy through our mutual connection of football. Iβve been photographing the team she plays for, Chelmsford City FC Women, on and off for about 2 years. Amy literally dived onto the scene as their goalkeeper and only after I stalked her Instagram profile, did I spy an engagement ring on her finger. I was only used to seeing goalie gloves on those hands! π§€π
It transpired that Amy thought I only photographed football and not weddings, and after I gave her some grief about not capturing her November wedding, I finally managed to beat her into submission. After some consultation with her partner Chelsea, I was now on the scene. And Iβm so grateful to them for asking me to capture their day at Bruisyard Hall!
Both Amy and Chelsea got ready on-site, Chelsea and her bridal party in Bruisyard Hallβs lovely suite upstairs in the manor house, and Amy and her bridal party next door in the Byre. I knew where Amy and her bridal team were because I just followed the noise.
The weather was unseasonable for November in Suffolk, super warm with a bright blue sky; it was only the morning and I was already regretting my long sleeves. But this isnβt my first rodeo and I knew Iβd appreciate my long sleeved-outfit later that day. It was autumn after all.
Itβs fair to say it was an emosh day; both brides managed to keep their composure for most of the day, and it was their family and friends who found themselves in a bit of a happy blubfest for the two brides. Both bride squads were lots of fun and it always makes my life so much easier when they are, as opposed to giving me the side-eye all day (you best believe this does actually happen ππ«
Amy and Chelsea managed to have their whole drinks reception outside in the balmy autumn weather (in November!) before we grabbed some couple photos up by the house and the bridge. Sunlight is a valuable commodity in November but of course we smashed it. Some great speeches followed around dinner and before we knew it, it was time to throw off the shackles of dignity and let the drinks flow.
Itβs always special photographing the wedding of someone you know, but with that comes an added (self-imposed) pressure of wanting to make sure you absolutely do them justice with the photos. On this occasion, for the two brides A+C, I think I did.
Hereβs what they said:
βItβs hard to know where to start with Sally - Iβm not sure there are the words to quite do her justice!
From booking to the day itself, Sally was exceptional. Super organised, calm and composed throughout. On the day itself she was so much more than a photographer - making sure everything ran smoothly and on time. She had the perfect balance between being as lovely as she always is, whilst also getting people where they needed to be - no mean feat during group photos!!
Our wedding was only yesterday and Sally has already sent over the most beautiful sneak peeks. Our jaws genuinely hit the floor when they came through - weβre so excited for the final photos.
We genuinely couldnβt have wished for anyone better, and if Iβm honest, I donβt think there could have been!
Sally - thank you. You are exceptionally talented and we are so grateful.β
