Rebecca & Sam | Black tie wedding at Baddow Park House

I was internally squealing with excitement when I received this wedding enquiry for Baddow Park House back in March 2024, and 2 years on, I’m delighted to be featuring it on my wedding blog!

Rebecca and Sam’s wedding day at luxury wedding venue Baddow Park House was a veritable feast for the senses. Sophisticated black tie theme? Check. Vibrant colour scheme? Check. Industry-renowned entertainment The Function Band? Checkity check. Glorious warm, dry, sunny weather (considering it was July)? Um……. 3 out of 4 is pretty darn good.

I have a habit of shooting large weddings at Baddow Park House, and Rebecca and Sam’s was no different, with 11 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen in the wedding party! And let me tell you, all of them were great company. Even when we were confined to indoors due to the Great British Weather, this bride tribe and groom squad really kept the energy levels high and it was party vibes from start to finish ⚡️🪩

If you’ve followed me for a little bit you’ll know that I am a lover of all things colourful at weddings, and their wedding day at Baddow Park House was no exception - in fact I may have done another exciteable squeal upon seeing their reception setup in the venue’s famous orangery, with vibrant pink and cerise, lifting and elevating their classic black tie theme. Beautiful florals from Stock Florist took the styling to an 11/10.

R+S had so many brilliant little flourishes, including the Snog/Marry/Avoid welcome sign, tambourines and maracas for guests at dinner and beyond, and picking their witnesses at random during the ceremony - with the bride managing to pick her maid of honour/sister. (“It’s a fix!”)

The Function Band played guests into dinner, and if you’ve ever been around them before, you’ll know they have wedding guests on their feet all throughout the dinner service, making for some super fun photos. The energy and enthusiasm never tailed off all day, and hopefully you get a sense of the party from my quick selection of photos below 🎷🎤

I’ll leave my take on things there, and I’ll leave you to check out just a smattering of photos from across their wedding day at Baddow Park House. Rebecca & Sam, the kindest, most fun people. I bloody loved it.

What they said:

“We honestly can’t thank Sally enough for capturing our wedding day so beautifully. From the very beginning, she took the time to really get to know us and our guests, which made the whole experience feel so personal and relaxed.

On the day itself, Sally was just incredible — friendly, professional, and somehow managed to feel both part of the day and completely invisible at the same time (in the best possible way!). Sally gave just the right amount of direction to get the perfect shots without ever making things feel staged or awkward. Even when we had a sudden bit of rain, Sally handled it so effortlessly, quickly adjusting plans and keeping everything running smoothly without any stress.

Sally went above and beyond, sending us a handful of preview photos so soon after the wedding — and they were absolutely stunning. When we received the final gallery, we were blown away all over again. The photos are everything we hoped for and more; she managed to capture not just the big moments, but all the little details and emotions too.

We couldn’t recommend Sally more highly. She made us feel so comfortable, captured our day perfectly, and have given us photos we will truly treasure forever 🩷”
