Georgina & Kye | Blake Hall

It’s hard to know where to start with this one, but my journey (yes I said journey!) with Georgina and Kye began back in 2018 when they booked me for their 2020 wedding at perennial Essex fave, Blake Hall. In between that time, there was a small matter of a global pandemic, and bless their hearts, G+K attempted to marry 3 times before settling on a date in June 2022, where we kept everything crossed would see us out of the Covid postponement woods.

Between March 2020 and 2021 Georgina and I spent many a time talking on the phone, or over email or social media, trying to tie their wedding day altogether again with every supplier they intended to use on their initial date, and often just to retain some sanity during wedding planning! Poor old Georgina even got me advising her on the lowdown that I was about to start IVF treatment and if we were successful she may need to find a different photographer… but G+K were determined to hang onto all of their original suppliers, including me, and their new date in June 2022 meant we would all be there. Two years later than planned, but it was so worth the wait.

I loved the palpable sense of giddiness when I arrived at Georgina’s parents house to capture bride prep in the morning, and that giddiness was cranked up even more when Georgina opened her wedding gifts from Kye, which included a Dyson Hair Wrap! Apparently the hair wrap was the pinnacle of the occasion. I shot alongside David of Rideout Films and you can see his fab film of G+K HERE

Kye and the gents got ready at Blake Hall, and Kye was suitably emosh at the card G had written for him. G+K’s spaniel Percy joined them at Blake Hall a little later in the day and he looked very dapper in his bow tie, which apparently was almost the most expensive element of the wedding (next to the Dyson Hair Wrap).

I couldn’t have been happier to finally capture their day; it was worth the wait, and you won’t find two kinder, more genuine souls than G+K. It made me so happy to document their wedding day, and I was super chuffed to see them become Mr and Mrs. It really was the best of times.

PS Check out Georgina’s cape in the gallery below - uh huh yes that is a CAPE!

What they said:

“I came across Sally’s work after getting engaged in July 2018 and booked her shortly after that as one of our suppliers. We loved the style of Sally’s work and knew we wanted a much more laid back approach to our wedding photography. Well, we certainly weren’t left disappointed! Sally really is nothing short of amazing. Being a ‘Covid Bride & Groom’ our journey with Sally was a lot longer than any of us anticipated. Throughout this time she was supportive, reassuring and stuck by us through the torture of 2020/2021 wedding planning.

Additionally, when our day finally came she really lived up to all of our expectations with her professional manner and calming presence. We received our photos in a timely manner and felt up to date with the progress of editing due to Sally’s social media updates. Our photos arrived and are nothing short of incredible. We are so so happy with them and no review or amount of stars will truly reflect how we feel about Sally and her work in general. If you’re looking for a totally flawless professional, you’ll find that in Sally! 5 Stars+”
