Ines & Liam | The Compasses at Pattiswick
When a bride is willing to traipse across a wheat field in September in her brand new Manolo Blahniks, you know you’ve found a golden couple. That’s exactly what Ines and Liam are, and I had a blast capturing their wedding last year at The Compasses at Pattiswick!
In 2019 these guys were my second couple with a significant height difference, so I was well-prepared for them, especially following our cheeky little pre-wedding shoot in Braintree a few months prior. For the wedding, Ines had a brand new pair of royal blue Manolo Blahnik heels to help add a few inches of height, and credit to her, she wore them the entire day, beginning to end!
Ines and Liam married at The Compasses at Pattiswick near Coggeshall, a boutique venue tucked away in the north Essex countryside, and one I’m very familiar with, as I’m a recommended supplier there. Theirs was the fourth wedding I shot at The Compasses in 2019, and every one was so unique and individual. I was also super chuffed to see the gents were wearing something other than blue suits – phew! (Sorry to everyone with blue bridal party suits.)
The girls got ready at the venue’s bridal suite while the gents got suited and booted at Ines and Liam’s house about 15 minutes away. Though we were in mid-September it was shaping up to be a hot one, and we were lucky as the sun shone all day. The Compasses is famous for its sunsets and I was delighted when Ines and Liam were happy to zoom down the road with me to catch the sun going down. Mega respect to Ines as she thought nothing of heading into the recently-cut wheat fields in her new Manolos, so we could grab some gorge golden hour shots. I think you’ll agree it was worth it 😍
